College CFO had the pleasure of interviewing Beth Walker, founder of College Funding Coaches, who has been a big help to our company. Beth has done some amazing work giving families unique financial planning solutions to send their children to college. According to the U.S. Department of Education, the average cost of a public university is $15,100 per year and in 2030 that number is expecting to be $44,047—far outpacing inflation and wage growth. Beth started the company around the same time her son was born when she realized just how little help was out there. Initially she only used a financial planning approach, but when she realized that guidance counselors at high schools were overwhelmed with between 50 and 100 students per year, she realized more than just a financial approach was needed. Beth and her team help families FIND and FUND further education without dipping into their retirement and selling their house. The financial aid process can be extremely difficult and College Funding Coaches help navigate you through that process and maximize your financial aid. College is about learning, but it’s also an investment, so Beth and her team work to find schools that support the specific majors and career path her clients are looking to go down. College Funding Coaches is located in Colorado Springs and Las Vegas, so if you live near either of those areas we highly recommend you check out her website: to learn more about what she does!

Carrie joined College CFO in the summer of 2013 and helped transform the company into what it is today. Unable to market DivaCFO to her age group, you would find Carrie reaching out as the “College CFO” though Facebook, Twitter, Pintrest, LinkedIn and more. After Carrie left for the London School of Economics for the 2013-2014 school year CollegeDiva continued to grow and eventually resulted in College CFO. She rejoined us for the summer of 2014 and continues to be involved in the project. Carrie is heading into her senior year at Hamilton College where she is majoring in economics and plays on the Varsity tennis team.
